I love shooting in the rain. Don’t really know why. It is quite difficult to focus your attention in such conditions, and you have to be careful with your gear – I should probably be more careful with my camera then I am.

On the other hand, nobody cares that you’re there with your massive dslr, as everyone is preoccupied with themselves getting soaked. It’s easy to get close and shoot. And of course all the reflections (cheese alert, cheese alert) are there.

The last shot is my favourite from today. Expression works, consistent colour palette helps, hands add a bit of drama, similarity between the lady’s tightly shut lips and tight knot of her scarf creates a strong presence. Never mind soaked shoes and a camera that needs to be dried properly.
